Kisah Dibalik Gedung Mangkrak Tertinggi di Dunia, Disebut Angker
NEWSLIVE – Gedung Goldin Finance 117 di Tianjin, China, kini menyandang predikat sebagai gedung mangkrak tertinggi di dunia. Dengan ketinggian mencapai 1.957 kaki atau sekitar 596,5 meter, gedung pencakar langit ini telah dibiarkan tak berpenghuni selama lebih dari satu dekade.
Dikenal juga dengan sebutan ‘The Walking Stick’ karena bentuknya yang ramping dan menjulang, gedung ini awalnya dibangun pada tahun 2008 dan sempat tercatat sebagai gedung tertinggi kelima di dunia. Namun, hingga saat ini, nasibnya masih menggantung tanpa kejelasan.
Goldin Finance 117 direncanakan menjadi pusat kawasan pemukiman mewah dan distrik bisnis di Tianjin, sebagai bagian dari skema Goldin Metropolitan milik miliarder Pat Sutong. Pembangunan gedung ini dimulai dengan ambisi besar untuk menciptakan landmark baru di kota tersebut.

Namun, pada tahun 2010, proyek pembangunan terhenti akibat krisis ekonomi yang melanda. Meskipun sempat dilanjutkan kembali pada tahun 2011, pembangunan gedung kembali dihentikan secara tiba-tiba oleh pemerintah China pada tahun 2018.
Keputusan pemerintah China untuk menghentikan pembangunan gedung ini didasarkan pada larangan baru yang melarang pembangunan gedung pencakar langit yang tingginya melebihi 1.640 kaki atau sekitar 500 meter. Alasan keselamatan menjadi latar belakang dari kebijakan ini. Larangan tersebut juga memicu perubahan paradigma di kalangan arsitek, yang kini lebih diarahkan untuk menghidupkan kembali bangunan bergaya budaya China daripada meniru desain asing.
Sejak saat itu, Goldin Finance 117 seolah menjadi ‘pemandangan buruk’ bagi warga Tianjin, menjadi simbol dari ambisi yang tidak tercapai. Gedung ini juga diliputi rumor-rumor angker karena dibiarkan kosong begitu lama.
Gedung ini memiliki 128 lantai yang menjulang tinggi ke langit, tetapi hingga kini belum ada yang berminat untuk melanjutkan atau membeli gedung tersebut. Upaya untuk menjual bangunan ini juga belum membuahkan hasil, meninggalkan Goldin Finance 117 sebagai monumen bisu dari mimpi besar yang terhenti.
Sementara itu, gedung ini terus berdiri, menanti nasibnya di masa depan. Warga Tianjin dan para pengamat pembangunan terus memandang gedung ini sebagai contoh nyata dari tantangan dan risiko dalam pembangunan gedung pencakar langit di era modern.
